West Ashely, South Carolina – Several people were injured in a car incident that took place on Thursday afternoon, Charleston police confirmed.
According to the authorities, an SUV rolled over in West Ashley Thursday afternoon just before 4 p.m. on Glenn McConnell Parkway near Magwood Drive.
While the police were investigating the incident and crews worked the scene, part of the road was closed for traffic.
The driver of the SUV suffered significant injuries and was transferred to hospital for treatment.
The other passenger suffered minor, non-life-threatening injuries and they were treated at the scene.
Sgt. Elisabeth Wolfsen said the vehicle ended up in a ditch and was towed away from the scene.
The police didn’t reveal what led to the incident.
