Two times in nine months: Conway man impersonated police officer, arrested

Conway, South Carolina – Conway man is arrested for second time in nine months for impersonating police officer.

According to the police, this is second time the man to the same in just nine months.

Following the incident, police arrested and charged Patrick Jamar Gause, 44-year-old from Conway, with impersonating a law enforcement officer and kidnapping.

Last Friday Gause told two victims in Conway he was undercover officer demanding $40. He allegedly told one of the victims to put his hands on the roof of his car and searched him.

Nine months ago, in June 2020, Gause was arrested and charged doing the very same thing. First time he told a victim to put his hands on his head while he was searching the victim, looking for money.

Following the 2020 incident, Gause was charged with strong arm robbery, impersonating a police officer, and kidnapping.

Police arrested Gause on Tuesday and he has been held in J. Reuben Long Detention Center with no bond set.
