Was Trump right? Facebook censored thousands recently, now allows ‘Covid-19 might be a lab virus’ posts on the platform

Facebook banned thousands of members on their platform over the past few months including the former US president Donald Trump calling him a bigot. Not only Trump supporters, but many any other non-politics-related posts and members are among those who are getting banned for bunch of different reasons every day.

In a recent statement, now Facebook allows posts that are related to the Covid-19 virus origins. To be more specific, now Facebook allows posts claiming that the Covid-19 is a result of lab researches gone wrong at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

What is even more interesting, the platform made this decision after U.S. intelligence report detailed four lab workers reported COVID-19 like systems in November, a full month before China reported its first official case.

“In light of ongoing investigations into the origin of COVID-19 and in consultation with public health experts, we will no longer remove the claim that COVID-19 is man-made from our app,” Facebook said in a statement. “We’re continuing to work with health experts to keep pace with the evolving nature of the pandemic and regularly update our policies as new facts and trends emerge.”

It was not that long ago when Donald Trump claimed this is lab virus and should be called “China Virus”. If investigation proves the intelligence information true, Trump might have been right. And maybe many people are scared of such an outcome.

“Now everybody is agreeing that I was right when I very early on called Wuhan as the source of COVID-19, sometimes referred to as the China Virus,” Trump said. “To me it was obvious from the beginning but I was badly criticized, as usual. Now they are all saying “He was right.” Thank you!”

We didn’t really have the opportunity to hear Biden’s commentary on this. As usual, Biden only issued a formal statement regarding the Covid-19 origin case.

“As part of that report, I have asked for areas of further inquiry that may be required, including specific questions for China,” he said. “I have also asked that this effort include work by our National Labs and other agencies of our government to augment the Intelligence Community’s efforts. And I have asked the Intelligence Community to keep Congress fully apprised of its work,” Biden said in a statement.”

What indeed bothers many is the thing that Facebook had banned posts related to the Covid-19 lab origins, but just shortly after Biden’s statement they decided to let people share their opinion on this question.
