Charleston, South Carolina – After two years of Covid-19 restrictions, the Spoleto Festival is back in town and is set to run until mid-June providing exceptional opportunity for friends and families to spend some great time in Charleston.
According to the organizers, the Spoleto Festival is great opportunity for those who want to taste Italy in downtown Charleston and witness sights and sounds of Spoleto for the next two weeks. The 46th season of the festival will offer opera, theater, dance and a variety of music performances in the upcoming period.
Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg believes an increase in exposure to the arts is beneficial to the community.
“A connection with the universal, a connection with God, with the spirit,” Tecklenburg said. “Art does that for our community and when you bring so much of it together in such a comprehensive way, it can really uplift us personally and uplift the community as well.”
The Spoleto Festival started on Friday, May 27, and will run until June 12.
