Hero South Carolina firefighter ran and walked 100 miles in two days in full firefighter gear to raise money for the Travis Manion Foundation

South Carolina has many heroes among the residents in the state and this firefighter is surely one of them.

Dave Moore, a Lowcountry firefighter, managed to reach his goal to run and walk 100 miles in two days with full firefighter gear.

Moore said that the goal of his 100-mile achievement is to raise money for the Travis Manion Foundation and honor U.S. veterans and local first responders.

Moore tried to achieve the same goal last year, but he couldn’t make and decided to quit the journey on the 62nd mile because of a leg injury.

Moore began his journey Thursday, starting in Mt. Pleasant. He traveled to Isle of Palms, Sullivan’s Island and downtown Charleston. He finished his trek today at the 9/11 Heroes Run on Daniel Island.

Moore is a captain with the Dorchester County Fire and Rescue.

Let’s hope that Moore’s story will inspire many other locals to do the same and raise awareness in the community.
