Seven-vehicle crash at the intersection of Rivers Avenue and Cosgrove Avenue fatal for two people, three injured

North Charleston, South Carolina – Seven vehicles were involved in the Friday morning crash in North Charleston that was fatal for two people, while at least three others sustained injuries.

Initially, the North Charleston Police Department informed the public that a total of three people were killed in the crash, but the information was corrected in the afternoon hours.

The seven-vehicle crash took place around 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Rivers Avenue and Cosgrove Avenue. While crews were working to clear the scene, the intersection was closed for several hours until around 3:30 p.m., when it was finally reopened.

The crash was fatal for two people, while three others were transported to a local hospital for treatment. As of now, there are no additional details about the extent of their injuries. The identities of the victims were not immediately made public.

One vehicle involved in the crash was caught on fire. Fire crews with the North Charleston Fire Department also responded to the scene.

Currently, no more information is available. There is an ongoing investigation that should reveal what led to the crash.
