South Carolina reports 2,583 new Covid-19 cases and 36 additional deaths

South Carolina – The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) has announced 2,583 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and 36 additional confirmed deaths Sunday, Dec. 20. This information is accurate as of Dec. 18.

This brings the total number of people with confirmed cases since the outbreak began to 253,034 and confirmed deaths to 4,566.

Of the 36 deaths reported, 6 people were middle-aged (35-64 years old) and 30 were elderly individuals (65 and older).

DHEC also announced 25 new probable cases of the virus and 4 new probable deaths. That brings the total of probable cases to 20,372 and the total number of probable deaths to 369 in the state since the outbreak began.
