Argument over $20 goes wrong, man first shoots his brother then teen bystander in the head, charged

Disagreement over $20 went bad as man shot his brother then a teenager bystander in the head. Tommy T. was arrested and faces multiple felony charges including attempted murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated murder and more.

Before the incident, the Florida man was arguing with his two brothers over twenty dollars, police report confirms. Shortly after their argument, the three of them parted ways.

Just minutes later, one of the brothers received a text message from Tommy accusing the two other brothers talking about him behind his back.

Before noon, Tommy returned while his brothers were having a conversation. Obviously furious, he started yelling at them for talking about him behind his back. At some point, he took his handgun out of his pocket and pointed at them.

Tommy’s older brother pushed the gun away, but Tommy managed to fire a few shots in the air threatening to shoot them. One of the brothers immediately left the scene and ran into nearby apartment to hide, while the other one hid behind a parked car.

Tommy followed him behind the car and fired several shots. Luckily, the victim got shot only once in his mouth. One bullet went through the rear window of the car and shot 16-year-old girl, bystander, in the back of her head.

Both victims suffered non-life-threating injuries and were treated in hospital.

The police later announced that they arrested Tommy and he is facing multiple charges including attempted murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, child abuse, shooting a deadly missile into an occupied vehicle, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, using a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a concealed firearm, and destroying evidence.

He is being held on a $750,000 bond.
