Charleston warming shelter reopens again in front of another cold nights

Charleston, S. C. – Cold night are coming in the upcoming days so Aldersgate Winter Warming Shelter will reopen again on Monday night.

Us usual, the guests must check in between 7-9 p.m. and must leave the premises by 7 a.m. The shelter will work Monday night and Tuesday night.

hot shower, warm clothes, toiletries, safe overnight lodging, and an optional devotion will be provided for everyone. The shelter is located at 1444 Remount Road in North Charleston.

Safety measures will be taken during the stay. Social distance will be required, wearing a face during all times, pets are not permitted.

The capacity is limited to 40 guests and the shelter will operate on first come first serve basis.

Medical officials will check every guest on check in. Masks will be provided on entrance and symptomatic cases won’t be permitted to enter the shelter.

For a free connecting ride to the warming shelter, officials say to board a CARTA bus following Route 13 and request the Aldersgate Winter Warming Shelter.
