Face coverings ordinance in Charleston County not extended, exceptions apply

Charleston, S. C. – The face coverings ordinance that expires today, Saturday, was not extended by the Charleston County Council on Thursday.

Following this, face coverings will not be mandatory in Charleston County.

However, private businesses could choose whether or not to require them.

According to CDC, face coverings will be required inside all County buildings including Charleston County libraries. This is in line with the recommendations that face coverings should be warn in most of the times.

We will see how this will affect the numbers of new Covid-19 cases in the upcoming period.
