South Carolina health officials are offering free testing for HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases on Tuesday to mark the National HIV Testing Day.

The free testing will be available across the state as several health departments will offer the tests.

According to the Department of Health and Environmental Control, walk-ins will be possible but they recommend to make an appointment if you are interested to take the test.

If you want to make the testing at home, this option will be also available and every adult can take up to two testing kits for free. For more information about getting these free testing kits please visit together.takemehome.org.

The official free HIV testing day is on Sunday, but South Carolina health officials decided to offer the free testing on Tuesday.

According to the latest available data, there are more than 20,000 HIV positive people in South Carolina currently.
