Covid-19 positivity rate in South Carolina on the rise as the state added more than 1,300 new Covid-19 cases, report
South Carolina – South Carolina added more than 1,300 new cases on Wednesday, but DHEC also reported increase in the positivity rate.
According to the daily Covid-19 report, South Carolina added a total of 1,323 new positive cases in the total data.
781 of those cases are considered as confirmed cases, while 542 are considered as probable cases.
In the same report, 16 deaths were reported of which 15 confirmed, while one death is considered as probable.
Since the pandemic began, the state has detected a total of 941,029 cases of COVID-19 and 14,512 deaths in the state from COVID-19.
What comes as an alarming data is the increasing positivity rate. On Wednesday, the positivity rate was 9.2% which is large compared to Tuesday when the positivity rate was 6.9%.
DHEC reports data on a 48-hour delay, meaning the numbers released Wednesday represented Monday’s data.
