Myrtle Beach, South Carolina – The 30-year-old Lee Grant Cook, 30, of Myrtle Beach, is facing nearly a century behind bars following his arrest late last month.
According to South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson, Cook was arrested on June 29 and is now charged with nine counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a felony offense punishable by up to 10 years of imprisonment on each count. In other words, if Cook is found guilty on all charges, he faces a total of 90 years in prison.
Per a release from SC AG Wilson’s office, Cook is accused of distributing files of child sexual abuse material. Two years ago, Cook was convicted on related charges.
According to online records, Cook was released to “out to home detention” on $18,000 bond.
Cook’s arrest came following an investigation conducted by the Horry County Sheriff’s Office and investigators with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. Attorney General’s Office also took part in the investigation.
The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
